In 1994, Gabriela and Mathieu Sismann opened their first stand at the Puces de Saint‑Ouen. In 1995, they founded their gallery in Paris. From the Louvre des Antiquaires to the prestigious Quai Voltaire, over thirty‑two years of activity they have built a reputation as leaders in the international market for early sculpture and have become key references for collectors, enthusiasts, and professionals devoted to this niche field. Located opposite the Pavillon Flore—where the couple first met as students at the École du Louvre—the Galerie Sismann is a unique and now essential destination, dedicated without distinction to European sculpture from the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Classical and Baroque periods, up to the late eighteenth century. The gallery is distinguished above all by its ability to bring to light forgotten masterpieces of early sculpture, sourced from the art market or from private collections. Guided by their sensitivity, deep knowledge, and exceptional eye, Gabriela and Mathieu approach acquisitions as a quest for rare, overlooked, or neglected works, taking it as their mission to recontextualize them, rediscover their authors, and identify their original destinations. Research lies at the heart of this process, drawing on the couple’s specialized library as well as institutional archives and online databases. The conclusions of these studies are validated in advance by an international network of specialized consultants from academia and museums, and ultimately published. As independent dealers, Gabriela and Mathieu place research and excellence at the core of their practice. They acquire their discoveries with rigor, study them meticulously before attributing and publishing them, and finally present them in their gallery or at fairs.

Internationally recognized for its expertise in the field of early European sculpture, Galerie Sismann supports private clients and institutions in the acquisition and sale, advisory and valuation, as well as the authentication and appraisal of sculptures dating from the twelfth to the eighteenth century.
La Galerie Sismann se distingue principalement par sa capacité à mettre en lumière des chefs-d'œuvre oubliés de la sculpture ancienne, issus du marché de l'art ou de collections privées. Born in the United States and raised in Canada, Gabriela Sismann spent her teenage years in Argentina before moving to France in 1991 to study at the École du Louvre and the Sorbonne from where shes graduated as an Art Historian specializing in Italian Renaissance sculpture. In 1994, she and her husband Mathieu founded Galerie Sismann. Alongside her work as an antique dealer and Art Historian, Gabriela is also a designer of "Wearable Works of Art" .
Having inherited his father's passion for collecting, Mathieu Sismann, already an inveterate Art hunter, received a dual academic background in Law and Art History. He specialised in Old Master Sculpture at the École du Louvre and after five years as a trainee auctioneer, he and his wife Gabriela founded Galerie Sismann in 1994. Mathieu is an expert in Old Master Sculpture and a member of the CNES.
A graduate of the École du Louvre and the Sorbonne, Manon Lequio specialises in Medieval Art. She worked for seven years in the conservation departments of a number of major institutions, including the Musée de Louvre, the Musée des Augustins and the Musée de Cluny. In 2019, Manon joins Galerie Sismann and at the same time she continues to teach Medieval and Renaissance Works of Art at the École du Louvre.

As an expert in Old Master Sculpture and a member of the SNA and the CNES, Mathieu Sismann is authorised to appraise sculptures for public auctions, commercial transactions, insurance contracts and estate inventories. In addition to its main activity, the Galerie Sismann also offers expert appraisal services for Old Master Sculpture dating from the Middle Ages to the end of the 18th century.
