About Mysterium

After SUPERSTITIONS (2021), STAYIN'ALIVE (2022), ODYSSEE (2023) and BREAKFAST AT GABY'S (2024), it's now "MYSTERIUM" 's turn to offer objects that have been diverted to be worn as jewellery. I borrowed the term ‘MYSTERIUM’ from Stephan Sweig's "Prodigies of Life", a fascinating early work that attempts to unravel the mystery of artistic creation... sometimes relegated to spiritual impulses, sometimes equated with magic or divine emanation. I thought it would be interesting to link this to the symbolism and weave that connects the unique pieces in this exhibition: each has been created by diverting a votive object that reflects on the link between the visible and the spiritual, the transformation of an emotion into creation while sending out a message of healing. Drawn from a variety of belief systems, the objects I have chosen have a number of things in common. Basically, they all have the same protective message. In short, iI would say they are ‘positive objects’. They allow to celebrate a happy thought and restore hope.
