View mapTo mark the 30th anniversary of their gallery, Gabriela and Mathieu Sismann invite art lovers to explore the universal theme of the couple and desire. Through a personal selection of sculptures and objets d'art, the "30 YEARS OF DESIRE" exhibition, which will be held at Galerie Sismann from 4 June to 4 July, will focus on the sublimation and eroticization of the body, as expressed in exceptional nudes such as a rare Roman marble after Willem Du Broecke's famous Sleeping Nymph, or Michel Anguier's tranquil Amphitrite. The passion of movement is embodied in the masterpiece of the selection, a unique cast by Francesco Mochi depicting the tragic love story of Pyramus and Thisbe. Implicit in these works is the story of Gabriela and Mathieu's journey, their attraction to sculpture and the encounters that have marked three decades of activity...
